Welcome to the Val Verde High School website for the 2019-2020 school year. We are looking forward to another successful year and making great things happen to engage our students in school. As principal of Val Verde High School it is my responsibility to ensure that our students receive an education that will help them be successful in life. Under the leadership of Mr. Michael McCormick, Superintendent, Val Verde High School is moving to create opportunities for our students to succeed. At Val Verde High School, students can develop skills that will help them in being college and career ready in the 21st century. Students can participate in career technical education classes, such as R.O.P. pharmacy, graphics production, and video production and develop skills that will help them find employment in careers that are highly sought after today.
Val Verde High School is a State recognized Model Continuation High School and received a six year W.A.S.C. accreditation in 2017-2018. This means that graduates of Val Verde High School receive a W.A.S.C. accredited high school diploma, equal to that of other high schools. Teachers and staff provide opportunities for students to reconnect with school, in a caring environment.
For me personally, I love being the principal of Val Verde High School. I get to see students that have experienced some setbacks in their education, but have come to Val Verde and have turned things around; students that are now on track for graduation. Students at Val Verde High School, with the help of a great staff, have changed their lives and are moving toward fulfilling their goals and dreams.
